Carlos MAIO CORREIA

Carlos Correia is a Civil Engineering graduate specializing in Transportation and Territorial Planning from the Instituto Superior Técnico, with a 30-year career in the mobility and transport sector. His expertise includes strategic planning, economic and technical project analysis, and management of transport systems.
Since 1997, he has held key management roles in state-controlled companies, directing planning, studies, and system management efforts, and has been instrumental in providing technical consultancy for various strategic projects. His career also features significant public service, including technical advisory roles to government officials, management of state-supervised transport companies, and leadership positions such as the presidency of AMTL - Autoridade Metropolitana de Transportes de Lisboa, and IMTT, I.P. - Instituto da Mobilidade e dos Transportes Terrestres.
He has contributed to regulatory oversight, strategic planning, and development efforts across several transport sectors, including serving as President of the AMTL Executive Committee and leading strategic initiatives for the National Railway Network (REFER, EPE) and IP - Infraestruturas de Portugal, Clients and Mobility Department. His work has not only influenced policy and infrastructure development but also earned him official recognition from government officials.
From 2015 to 2016, he was the Head of Office for the Assistant and Environment Secretary of State. Later, he served as an Executive Board Member for the Lisbon Port Authority (APL) and Setúbal and Sesimbra Port Authority (APSS), positions he held until October 2022, when he was appointed Chairman, a role he currently maintains.
