Danielle Butsick is a Senior Environmental Program Manager in the Port of Seattle’s Maritime Environment and Sustainability Department, specializing in sea level rise and climate resilience planning for maritime infrastructure, and underwater noise mitigation and management. She also leads permitting and environmental review for multi-million-dollar maritime capital projects. Danielle is an AICP certified planner with a background in bioregional planning and resilience; she has worked throughout the Pacific Northwest in hazard mitigation, oil spill response planning, and municipal long-range policy and planning.
Jean is a geographer with a master’s degree combining geography, law, economics, GIS, and landscape studies. For 15 years, he has supported coastal local authorities and port operators in defining and implementing their risk-management and climate-change adaptation strategies. He does so in a manner consistent with their respective responsibilities, particularly in the areas of urban planning, land management, and asset management.
As a project manager at the consultancy ARTELIA, he regularly coordinates the range of expertise required for these initiatives—including coastal and hydraulic engineering, civil engineering, socio-economic analysis, and urban planning—with a view to facilitating processes and supporting decision-making. He has extensive experience in organising and facilitating multi-stakeholder consultation processes.
