Participant’s Charter

Combating discrimination and gender-based, sexual, and racist violence

I’m taking part, I’m taking action!

This charter applies to everyone attending an AIVP event, in whatever capacity: participants, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors, partners, members of the press, volunteers and the organising team. It applies during sessions, technical visits, meals, evening events and all opportunities for discussion.

Transparency

To ensure the event runs smoothly, I will wear my name badge and adhere to the programme, the instructions given and the timetable.

Tolerance

In all circumstances, I shall remain polite, tolerant and considerate. I undertake to maintain a professional manner and use appropriate language towards everyone present. I shall respect those I interact with and their culture, without discrimination on the grounds of gender, religion or origin.

Responsibility

I am committed, alongside the AIVP, to combating all forms of gender-based, sexual or racist violence or discrimination, such as: comments on physical appearance, sexist or racist humour, persistent unwanted advances, unsolicited physical contact, images or messages of a sexual nature, and photographing or recording a person without their consent. Any inappropriate behaviour may result in legal action.

Vigilance

I shall remain vigilant regarding any inappropriate, unlawful, or violent behaviour that I may witness. I shall approach the alleged victim and offer to report these incidents while respecting their trust and confidentiality.

Sanctions

I undertake to comply with the Participants’ Charter. I accept that AIVP, in solidarity with alleged victims, may, at its discretion, issue a warning, impose exclusion without refund, or ban the person concerned from participating in future events. I agree that the AIVP may inform the organisation to which the accused person belongs, as well as the relevant authorities. In the event of legal proceedings, the AIVP will stand by the alleged victims.
